THE PRINTER'S VIEW
(From "Collaboration/Transfromation"
Pomona College, 1997)
"...Printers are in a unique situation among artists, since our job is to produce art for another artist. As a collaborator, I am required to sublimate my self, and to get inside another artist's mind, and, insofar as is possible, to see things from that artist's point of view. To me, the art is the collaboration, the technical processes, the solving of problems, the physical work, and the inspection and comparison of one print to the next. Everything that goes into working towards perfection is part of the art. I consider the print itself, completed and signed, as a record of that experience..."

"I consider myself to be an artist who specializes in the art of the lithograph. The artists I work with are exemplary because of their commitment, and because of the long periods of time they spend thinking about art. Their involvement, dedication, and at times obsession with their art is truly remarkable."
